Purchasing and protecting land for wildlife means safeguarding entire chunks of an ecosystem, instead of focusing on one species. This is required so that the selected ecosystems can maintain their function and role in regulating climate and biodiversity. Our partners work in key areas around the world that are home to thousands of unique and irreplaceable species and perform important crucial roles in global climate regulation. We partner with trusted organizations like Fundación Jocotoco and Rainforest Trust. Our partners manage funds to purchase land for wildlife and designating that land a legally protected area. This is the first step on the road to conservation and local sustainable development. Scientific committees are involved to select habitats, and once this has been decided, funds are used to buy land for local conservation projects and push for their protection with local governments.
